The reconstruction of the recreation in the oncological department of the rehabilitation center of the Russian children 's clinical hospital of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University was initiated by a charitable foundation "Give life" with the financial support of "Bayer".
Task: creating a game-based educational space for children living in the hospital between radiation and chemotherapy sessions.

Multifunctional recreation
Users from 0 to 100 years old
A small recreation area of 20 sq. m. is the only place in the rehabilitation center, where patients can relax, play, watch TV and study with patronage teachers. Plus, masterclasses and performances, periodically organized by charitable organizations for young patients, are also held in this recreation area.
Also, this place can be used by the parents of young patients that usually stay in the rehabilitation center 24\7 and their life is spent between the ward, the treatment room, and the kitchen.
Modular stands "Rubik's Cube"
"Rubik's cube" are seats designed on the principle of LEGO. Modules allow you to create dozens of combinations for different scenarios of games and activities - from individual seats and work surfaces to a small auditorium
3 ways to use the recreation
Desks
are equipped with wheels. In regular days, all tables are located along the window, and during masterclasses and group classes, you can quickly organize one large table in the recreation center
- daily mode, when all furniture and game elements are available for use by children, parents, and teachers; booths for classes with patronage teachers and private booth; desks; play tables for preschoolers; racing stools, racks for storing toys and books, TV with a game console; wall game "PRO-shariki"; basketball ring with softballs
- master class mode, when one large table is made up the center of the room, and all the chairs and stands "Rubik's Cube" are placed around it for comfortable group classes
- theater performance mode, when all the сentral space is freed up for a performance or concert; all chairs, stools, and stands are placed in the "auditorium", other furniture is compactly stacked in the corridor
Acoustic booths

are single and double houses where a person can retire with its favorite book/gadget or study with a patronage teacher.
Booths are equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation, directional lights and USB sockets for charging gadgets
Trolls
children's stools on wheels, which involve many scenarios of games and racing; parking in a specially designed parking bench; playing in a "train" or "subway", or just spin on the spot around its axis
Pro-shariki interactive game
The rules:
2 players build trajectories of straight and curved elements of different colors on a magnetic-marker board. Then they simultaneously launch 2 balls to the finish line. The winner is the player whose "athlete" comes last.

A basketball hoop is located directly above the Trolls parking lot. Young athletes will be able to compete for accuracy with the help of soft and bright basketballs
